As per the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the institute will strictly follow the “UGC regulation on curbing the menace in higher Educational Institutions 2009”. In accordance with these regulations, the admitted student as well as their parent or guardian must submit two individual affidavits as per the provided format.

STATUTORY WARNING
Ragging of any student is a criminal offence, and stringent measures will be taken to curb the menace of ragging in educational institutions. Vidya Institute of Training and Education administration is highly vigilant and committed to maintaining a safe, ragging-free environment. Students and parents should not feel apprehensive, and they are encouraged to report any incident immediately to the institute authorities. “If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given an opportunity to explain, and if the explanation is not satisfactory, the authority may expel the student from the institution.” Any student facing issues related to ragging should report the matter promptly to the Anti-Ragging Committee constituted at the institute.

Following strict orders from the Supreme Court and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to prevent ragging, the institute has been proactive in its approach for the last several years.

We look forward to your continued support in this direction for the coming session and future years. Ragging has become synonymous with teasing, terror, harassment, cruelty, fear, and physical and mental abuse of human rights, resulting in tragic consequences such as suicides, group conflicts, and high dropout rates. Vidya Institute of Training and Education considers ragging a cognizable and serious offense and will take stringent actions against offenders to maintain a “Ragging Free Campus.” Possible penalties for students directly or indirectly involved in ragging include:

  • Cancellation of admission
  • Suspension from attending classes
  • Withholding or withdrawing scholarships, fellowships, and other benefits
  • Debarring from appearing for tests, exams, or placement activities organized by the institute
  • Withholding of results
  • Lodging an FIR against the offender
  • Debarring from representing the institution in any national or international events, tournaments, and festivals
  • Suspension or expulsion from the hostel
  • Expulsion from the institution, with a consequent bar from admission to any other institution
  • Imposition of fines
  • Rigorous imprisonment for up to 3 years (under court of law)

We urge you to refrain from any form of ragging. The enclosed undertakings must be completed and signed by you and your parent or guardian and submitted to the department before registration. Your cooperation in ensuring a “Ragging Free Campus” will contribute significantly to the positive image of Vidya Institute of Training and Education.
